Welcome to the Small Business Sales Toolbox. Nothing really happens in a business until someone sells something!!! Yes - that is a fact! That is the reason our businesses exist - because someone out there needs something and they are prepared to exchange their hard earned cash for what they need. PROBLEM - in most cases, we are not the only business that can satisfy the buyer’s need - there are other competitors and, if the buyer does not like what we all have to offer, he or she may buy something else instead - so we are competing with suppliers of other similar goods which may satisfy the buyer’s need if we cannot do so. So the SOLUTION is to get to the front of the queue - both in understanding WHAT the buyers want and then in making it available to them WHEN they want it and persuading them that what you are offering is the RIGHT choice for them. So sales is a vital part of any business and the ability to generate and close sales is what usually distinguishes the successful business from the failures. So how do you become the successful sales person - the one that everybody in the company looks to when times are tight; the one who stands tall at the end of every month because you know your contribution to making the business is the greatest and you are the one person that the competitors' would love to steal!!! This programme will help you to establish effective sales techniques which WORK - provided you practise and develop them continually. Selling is like any other skill - the more you work at it, the better you will become; and the more that you avoid the bad habits that many salespeople fall into, the more you will outsell your competitors! A programme of this nature CANNOT and does not purport to be able to teach you how to sell in one easy lesson. We can only provide you with details of, and explanation of, a process and techniques that have been proven to work time and time again. These techniques, when undertaken in a 2 or 3 day sales training course, would include numerous role plays and skills practices to enable the learner to practice the skills described in the programme. Even at the end of that time, the skills will probably not have been mastered and will need continual work and practice for you to develop and refine them. We do, however, believe firmly that this programme will provide a foundation and understanding of the sales role and the sales process. In that way, it will assist small business owners to get started - and perhaps then undergo a fully fledged sales training programme once they are in a position to do so.
